New Work Magazine

I love love love this magazine's design and art direction. It's edgy, fashion-y, and experimental. It leaves me wanting more.

I found out about it from my friend Eric Goldstein's blog:
The burning question for those embarking on a design project, whether educated in the fine art of type, and the craft of typography, or just those on a PC with a lot of preset/populated fonts. The difference though is – how when and when NOT to manipulate the font, and just like music, letting space exist (or not) to allow for a visual rhyme or reason.

I found a great website which highlights a lot of beautiful work through publication design. The success of these pieces is the level of sensitivity, composition, style, concept and passion.

SIGG bottle love

Sky magazine featured my SIGG water bottle design in their July 2009 edition.
They have excellent taste, if I do say so myself.

(It's on p.32 if you have a copy.)

soon to be

I was asked to help out local Atlantan, Kate Atwood, with a new design for her web site and blog. With this new web site, she is interested in helping people find out about volunteer opportunities in many different areas of need. The idea is to inspire people to give in any way they can, whether through just their time, their money or through ideas. Kate also has a non-profit organization called Kate's Club (www.katesclub.org). This organization gives help and support to children who have lost a parent. I'll update when the web site goes live.

Rehab Care

While in the process of exploring a new brand identity, Rehab Care was seeking an interim web site design that updates their current brand style.

Rehab Care is a leading provider of physical rehabilitation program management services in over 1,200 hospitals, skilled nursing facilities and other long-term care facilities throughout the United States.

I was contracted to help explore what an interim web site might look like. Here's a few examples of the work I designed.

Elaina Designs

For the last several months I've been working on a web site for a local jewelry designer. Here site is being programmed as we speak and will hopefully be live soon! It will include a shopping cart feature and a database so that she can manage inventory entry. She has a wide range of designs that all relate through the beautiful gemstones she uses and the organic, artisan styles she creates. Here's a few pages from the web site design. Look for the live site soon: www.elainadesigns.com

While working with Whimsy Press, I created several SIGG water bottle designs. I found out today that they picked one of my designs to produce for their Lifestyle section! Check it out here.

Thanks SIGG!

Jardins Liliane is live

I love that sense of accomplishment that comes at the end of a project.

Here's a link to the latest little web site I designed and programmed.

Coming soon is another web site I'm designing for a jewelry designer. I'll be partnering with a web developer to create a dynamic, flash enhanced site. Should be fun!

Swink

note cards, book plate by Kim Alford

I received a sweet email about my work being shown on another design agency's web site. (http://www.swinkinc.com/weareswink_swap.php)

Swink, located in Wisconsin, is a brilliantly creative group of people and has a beautiful letterpressed self-promotional piece that I requested a sample of. They said they'd send it if I did a swap and sent some of my work to them. i sent them some super cute note cards and bookplates i designed while I worked with whimsy press.
